The Role

You will be working within quite a small but highly skilled team at Rotherham.
As the Principal Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in acting as the lead for the quality related project and operational activity and following UKAEA’s Project Management Processes, whilst producing and maintaining required project documentation in compliance with Quality Assurance requirements.
You will also be developing Project Quality Management Plans covering both tangible manufactured items and information/documentation/skills).
Primarily on site presence is required at our Rotherham facility, as the wider Quality team is based in Culham, so you will need to be comfortable as the stand alone Quality representative in Rotherham, whilst regularly reporting back to the Quality management hierarchy.
You will play a key part in the delivery of the CHIMERA programme, it is a unique world-first facility in which we will be able to simulate the extreme conditions found within a fusion power plant, but without any nuclear reactions taking place.
You will need experience of managing quality assurance/control inspections within a workshop and/or manufacturing environment and be able to cleary outline expectations whilst fostering affective working arrangements with external contractors to ensure services are delivered without delay.
Additional Responsibilities:
Travel to external providers and other UKAEA site will be required.
