This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions.

As Internal Communications Apprenticeship (Level 4), you will play a pivotal role in making a difference? Join our team and contribute to the future of fusion energy. As an Internal Communications Apprentice, you will play a pivotal role within the internal communications team, providing key support in delivering timely, effective, two-way communication to UKAEA staff. This will be a busy, varied role that provides an excellent introduction to a career in public relations.

    Under supervision you will learn how to:

    • Write and publish news articles for the UKAEA intranet, and manage the intranet news planner.
    • Write, collate, and publish daily email message round-ups with key information to be circulated to UKAEA staff.
    • Manage the Internal Communications work planner and yearly calendar.
    • Support the Internal Communications team’s preparations for the Chief Executive’s regular staff talks.
    • Maintain UKAEA’s display screens with regular updates of high quality, creative and topical content.
    • Support with organising and running of internal events (for example, information days and staff awards).
    • Support with measuring internal communications and reporting to management on the effectiveness of communications activities.
    • Provide administrative support for the Internal Communications team, including taking meeting notes and ensuring actions are followed up.
    • Help develop new ideas and technologies for improving internal communications at UKAEA.

    Essential Requirements:

    • A levels or equivalent
    • 5 GCSES A*-C (9-4) including Maths and English
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Demonstrate an interest and aptitude for chosen area of work.
