This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) / be eligible for SC Clearance (must have resided in the UK for the last 5 years) [delete as appropriate], including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions.

 

The Role

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference? Join our team and contribute to the future of fusion energy. As Global Mobility Manager, you will play a pivotal role in assisting the People Adviser to CEO in expanding global mobility services by advising on strategies for UK and international collaboration, including in-person and remote working arrangements. Contribute to UKAEA's strategic collaborations, manage relations with external agencies and internal departments for staff movements, ensure contractual integrity, intellectual property protection, and financial agreements. Oversee contract project management for relocation and immigration services, and support immigration status verification for overseas visitors in collaboration with the Business Resilience Department.

 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic collaborations and understand the landscape of partnerships, working with key personnel across various departments to grasp the political and operational nuances of participating in wide range of collaborations.
  • Facilitate UKAEA's involvement in strategic planning for collaborations, ensuring legal, commercial and health and safety interests are safeguarded while enabling staff exchanges and hosting with other organizations.
  • Oversee international postings, including negotiating expenses support packages for employees working abroad, with a focus on financial and taxation considerations, and providing comprehensive guidance on (often complex) overseas placements.
  • Manage secondment agreements and protect UKAEA's intellectual property rights through careful oversight of legal documents, consulting with in house and external lawyers and intellectual property experts.
  • Promote efficiency and compliance in global mobility practices by developing self-service resources for managers, improving processes, championing EDI and GDPR best practices, and guiding team development within the Global Mobility Team..

 

Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

  • Chartered CIPD or equivalent HR management experience, with a strategic mindset for complex contexts.
  • Creative problem-solving skills to achieve innovative outcomes.
  • Detailed focus on legal, financial, and operational aspects, including immigration, taxation, and legal agreements.
  • Strong influencing and teamwork abilities, effective at senior management levels.
  • Proficient in numeracy, IT literacy, policy development and system improvements.
