The Role
We are looking for an experienced, organized, highly driven Events Director to join our European marketing team. The role will lead planning and execution of large-scale customer events in Europe (+1,000) as well as supporting the field marketing team with the logistics of smaller Veeva led community events and industry trade shows. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate ownership of both the strategic and execution sides of events, be an operational contributor for all “day-to-day” processes, manage budget details, and support the execution of tactics, activities, and other details. Must be a team player working collaboratively with marketing, cross-functional teams, and event agencies.
What You'll Do
- Working with a cross-functional team, the Events Director is responsible for the overarching strategy and delivery of the following: European Commercial Summit, European R&D Summit, and other Veeva led events, community forums and industry trade shows. The Events Director will lead assigned tasks and be responsible for the successful execution of key deliverables, including but not limited to:
- Project manage the logistics of our key European Summits in collaboration with our events agency pre-event, onsite, and post-event
- Organize logistics from cradle to grave for all Veeva-led events and industry tradeshows
- Maintaining budget, procurement, and invoice/expense tracking and reconciliation
- Ownership of site and vendor selection
- Internal communications (i.e., staff registration, confirmation, final reminder, know before you go)
- Ensures flawless execution, quality of service, and timely delivery of all necessary components, properties, and materials for each event
- Ongoing monitoring and evaluation of industry best practices to bring innovative ideas for digital and in-person events
Requirements
- 8+ years of corporate events experience in Enterprise B2B Software or SaaS
- Experience leading large-scale (1,000+ attendees) world-class conferences, live and virtual, with a focus on logistical planning and execution
- Thrives in a dynamic, high-pressure environment
- Proven excellence in participating in cross-team program management and high attention to detail
- Proven ability to build relationships with other teams and across all levels
- Ability to travel 15-20% of the time
