Job Description

As a Software Engineer, you will be exposed to the entire software development lifecycle, and work on the specification, design, development, testing and deployment of our micro front-end solutions within a modern cloud (AWS) environment. You will also have the opportunity to mentor newer engineers. The ideal candidate is curious, spirited, lives and breathes Agile and the DevOps philosophy and is passionate about working in a team which focuses on building products to achieve the company's strategic goals.

The Merchant & User Data team is focused on building highly available and secure systems which allow merchants to manage access for both their users, and their integrations to Checkout’s APIs, as well as building a merchant account structure which allows merchants to access data following the principle of least privilege. 

You are also expected to:

• Show understanding of common security vulnerabilities in web applications

• Assist stakeholders in identifying and refining requirements and specifications for key deliverables   

• Take ownership and drive the delivery of product features

• Support the creation and maintenance of pipelines used to automate builds, testing and deployments

• Support the creation and maintenance of technical documentation

• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team

Qualifications

Must have:

• 5+ years of experience building modern single-page web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks such as React

• Knowledge of core web programming technologies (React, JavaScript, TypeScript, Node, HTML, CSS)

• Knowledge of web application design and state management solutions

• Experience working with and contributing to design systems and component libraries

• Strong customer focus, you build accessible applications with a great UX

• Understanding of HTTP, TLS and interacting with RESTful web services

• Experience with Unit and Integration testing

• Exposure to Continuous Integration and Deployment workflows

• Superb communication skills, ability to interact effectively with multidisciplinary teams
