We are expanding the team to deliver new digital products and experiences for users of both public and private sector clients.

Our Digital Consulting practice comprises Business Analysis and 5 design disciplines, being User Research, Service Design, Interaction Design, Design Systems and Design Thinking.

In this newly created role! We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to become part of our team supporting both existing and new client engagements, and to manage a team of Business Analysts.

Job Description

Due to the nature of the client engagements, every employee needs to be able to achieve Security Clearance. This means that you need to have the right to take up employment within the UK, do not have or require any visa to work, and have been resident in the UK for at least 5 years without any gap(s) totalling more than 6 months. Higher clearance/s may be required.

You should be able to easily commute to our London offices. For some roles/projects, travel to the clients offices will be required and the frequency is often determined by the client.

As a Senior Business Analyst you will play an important role in bridging the gap between all business partners, both internal and external, including Sales, Project Management, Technical Architecture, Development, QA Testing, and service support colleagues.

Your main responsibility will be to understand the change needs of our clients, investigate business problems and opportunities, and facilitate the delivery of appropriate changes through the application of business analysis techniques and documentation.

 

Key responsibilities of the role are summarised below:

  • Performing discoveries and are comfortable with planning, scoping, conducting, analysing and communicating findings that ground design decisions against user needs

  • An intellectually curious, creative problem solver and passionate about solving business problems by creating inclusive, accessible services for a diverse user population

  • We are very collaborative and supportive, and you enjoy working in a dynamic and creative environment. You are comfortable working with the different technical experts being part of a multidisciplinary team

  • A strong desire to co-create with users and relish participation of stakeholders and the wider team, and have experience leading workshops and broader inclusive design initiatives

  • You are great with stakeholders and are an engaging communicator, able to speak fluently to business people, designers, engineers and other stakeholders

  • You are business savvy, able to craft and translate business needs into traceable requirements and show evidence how the solutions meet the required needs with measurable value. You are comfortable working with the team reshaping user stories and defining acceptance criteria

  • Work collaboratively building and maintaining a backlog of prioritised requirements/user stories

  • Elaborate epics and user stories from high level concepts to 'playable' units of work for the Developers

  • Work closely with the Design and Research team, notably User Researchers and Service Designers, and integrate and enable user research as part of elaboration and continuous improvement

  • Assist the Delivery Manager / Scrum Master with maintenance of physical and digital Agile boards

  • Own and continuously improve the user story lifecycle, including definition of ready/done, user story kick-off and sign-off

  • Work with other Business Analysts, Product Managers, Delivery Managers, Technical Leads and QA and external stakeholders on site

  • Apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to ensure that the team’s plans and objectives are achieved

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

 

  • Substantial previous business analysis experience

  • Knowledge and application of the Requirements Engineering Process and experience in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

  • Experience of applying a variety of BA techniques appropriate to the business situation such as Business Process Modelling (using BPMN), Context Diagrams, Use Cases, SWOT analysis, MOST analysis and Business Activity Models to support the investigation and analysis of business situations

  • A technology background with experience delivering responsive web applications

  • Experience of working with a range of business and technical stakeholders in an agile context

  • Experience in communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences

  • Experience working in fast-paced, multi-disciplinary teams

  • Experience in a range of prioritisation techniques (RoM, t-shirt sizing, MoSCoW etc)

  • Strong understanding and experience of user centric design experience with non-functional aspects such as security, privacy, accessibility, performance and reliability

  • Business Analysis certification is highly desirable for this role

  • Collaborate meaningfully with all parties to ensure outcomes are reached effectively

  • build relationships with colleagues and to manage the bid team. Demonstrating the ability to work as true partners to the client facing and consulting teams

You will have very good attention to detail, coupled to the ability to develop and embed process and efficiency.

Previous experience within security-controlled environments is desirable.
