You will join the dedicated R&D teams in Cambridge that create and improve the products behind the company’s rapid growth. Our software engineers work on a wide variety of projects and with a diverse toolset. As a Typescript software engineer within the Alert translator team, you will ingest alerts/events/logs from the Darktrace platform, packaging them into the required formats before being sent to a 3rd party system.

This is a hybrid role, and the expectation would be to work a minimum of 2 days a week in the Cambridge office.

As TypeScript software engineer, within the Alert Translator team, your role will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Integrate with 3rd party systems (e.g. ServiceNow, Microsoft Sentinel, Amazon Security Lake)
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues reported by customers or internal team.
• Contributing to rapid prototyping of new and innovative ideas to further improve Darktrace’s services and offerings,
• Improving the performance and competencies of existing products and platforms,
• Investigating and furthering our unique methodology in defending against unknown cyber-attacks,

Innovation is of paramount importance and as such, creativity in approach is encouraged as much as traditional project-based development.

Candidate requirements:

We welcome applications from engineers who have a solution focused mindset combined with an analytical approach and problem-solving skills. During the interview process you’ll be able to demonstrate your ability to program using TypeScript and will show an understanding of writing code in a production environment. Additionally, it’s likely that you’ll be:

• Demonstrating experience using NodeJS and Typescript,
• Sharing knowledge of both Redis and SQL, particularly PostgreSQL,
• Displaying familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git)
• Discussing and explaining testing frameworks like Mocha and Jest,
• Show a deep understanding of 3rd party API integrations,
