Job Description
Purpose of the role
The go-to person for applying Scrum to produce high-quality work and coaching team members on Scrum techniques. Ultimately, creating self-organising teams that are flexible and fully productive during sprints.
Accountabilities
Working in partnership with IAG Tech and the business to:
Drive solution-based outcomes through the facilitation of scrum events, defined sprints, retrospective meetings, daily stand-ups, meetings and workshops
Maintain the product backlog using techniques for effective backlog management
Ensure the Scrum Team understands and communicates progress towards their product goals with Product stakeholders ensuring timely involvement (e.g., RTE, Technical Product Area Managers, Delivery Leads, Product Managers)
Leverage tools & techniques providing clear, relevant, up to date and metrics-based visibility of progress, ensuring data quality and dashboard reporting is always accurate
Coordinate with Project Managers, the Delivery Leaders, and Product teams to ensure dependencies are understood and managed
Build a trusted, safe and productive environment where team members ‘own’ the product, problems can be raised without fear of blame with an emphasis on continuous learning and problem solving
Lead the training, adoption and coaching of Scrum techniques and cadence within the team and the wider organisation
Remove barriers to delivery for stakeholders and Scrum Team(s), maintaining continuous and optimal workflow at a level that is sustainable
Ensure capacity, velocity & throughput of the team is measured and monitored (roadmap planning)
Deliver on a number of initiatives, the breadth and complexity of which will vary depending on experience.
This role may require travel and working from multiple sites/locations. Willing and able to travel to participate in meetings, workshops, and other related activities
Qualifications
Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
Recognised Agile qualifications (SAFe Scrum Master, Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I).)
Recognised Waterfall qualifications
Skills
Good knowledge of other Agile frameworks (Crystal, XP etc.)
Strong communication and servant leadership skills
Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution ability
Strong workshop leader and facilitator
Forming strong stakeholder relationships, with a proven ability of influencing and persuading internally and externally
Effective stakeholder management, balancing and finding compromises between opposing views and opinions
Business partnering, working as a valued partner with stakeholders across a diverse operation, delivering a value-added service to business customers.
Ability to recognise priorities and guide others towards the accomplishment of strategic business goals and objectives
Ability to work under pressure
Fluent written and spoken English
Experience
Proven digital product experience i.e., working with Product team(s)
Proven track record of passionately delivering in a Scrum environment, displaying excellent knowledge of Scrum techniques and artifacts (such as definition of done, user stories, automated testing, backlog refinement)
Experience of successfully operating in a software development environment
Experience of operating and managing teams across multiple countries and cultures is desirable.
