Role Overview
This is a 3-month Summer Internship and we’re seeking a Mechanical Engineering (or similar) student to join us.
As a member of the Mechanical Design team the role will involve designing new products and improving existing ones. This position offers a great opportunity to be involved in real design work, from initial concept and analysis, through to prototyping and testing, supporting documentation and drawing release for manufacture.
What will you be doing?
- Preparation of concept designs
- Liaising with internal and external sources to assess cost and manufacturing feasibility.
- Supporting the Continuous Product Development process via drawing changes and updates
- Preparation of supporting documentation – engineering calculations, test reports, etc.
- Getting involved in the assembly and testing of new designs and design improvements.
What are we looking for?
- Currently completing a degree in a relevant science or engineering discipline
- Confident and effective communicator with a good level of written and oral English
- Ability to build a rapport with others.
- Valid Driving License holder
- Strong A-levels (or equivalents) in maths and physics is desirable
