Risk and Finance Project Manager - Investment Banking

Permanent 

London (Onsite - 3-5 days per week) 

The successful candidate will oversee and deliver Project Management responsibilities to support Risk and Finance functions in a major change initiative for our client. You will be a point of contact between the client and DC as part of our Global Consulting team based in London. You will have deep change management, Risk and/or Finance knowledge and prior success as a project manager ideally from a financial services background.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Risk and Finance Project Manager with experience in Capital Markets to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading and managing projects focused on risk management, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and strategic initiatives within the investment banking industry.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Lead and oversee consulting projects related to risk management, finance transformation, regulatory compliance, and strategic initiatives for investment banking clients.
  • Risk Management: Provide expert guidance and support in assessing, monitoring, and mitigating financial and operational risks within investment banking operations, including market risk, credit risk, liquidity risk, and operational risk.
  • Financial Reporting: Manage projects related to financial reporting requirements for investment banking institutions, including regulatory reporting (e.g., Basel III, Dodd-Frank Act), financial statements preparation, and disclosure requirements.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks and requirements governing investment banking activities, including but not limited to Basel III, MiFID II, Volcker Rule, and other applicable regulations.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate closely with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables, and ensure alignment with strategic goals and priorities.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis, modelling, and forecasting to support decision-making and strategic planning for investment banking clients, including capital planning, stress testing, and scenario analysis.
  • Change Management: Lead change management efforts to facilitate the implementation of risk management and finance initiatives, ensuring effective adoption and integration within client organizations.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and coach project team members, provide guidance and support, and foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging best practices in risk management and finance within the investment banking sector, and incorporate insights into project methodologies and deliverables.

Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, CFA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management, finance, or consulting roles within these disciplines within the investment banking industry.
  • Strong understanding of investment banking products, processes, and regulatory requirements, including Basel III, Dodd-Frank Act, MiFID II, and other relevant regulations.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex consulting projects, including risk management initiatives, financial reporting projects, and regulatory compliance efforts.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to plan, organize, and execute projects effectively, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex financial data, identify trends and insights, and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with clients, senior executives, and cross-functional teams.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is a plus.
  • Ability to travel as needed to client sites
