About the opportunity
The Research & Development team is looking for a Summer Intern to support its York, PA lab facility. This position will support the day-to-day functions of the lab, focusing on the testing of refractory products and raw materials. Tasks include, but are not limited to:
▪Grain size distribution analysis of refractory products and raw materials.
▪Chemical analysis by x-ray fluorescence techniques.
▪Sample preparation for various testing methods.
▪Physical testing (strength, density, porosity, etc.) for various refractory types.
About you:
In addition to being enrolled in a technical, engineering, or chemistry discipline, you also have:
▪Desire to work in a research or manufacturing environment.
▪Willingness to learn new test methods and analytical skills.
▪Ability work with high-temperature test equipment.
▪Ability to work in potentially dusty environments.
▪Good communication skills.
▪A high school diploma or equivalent.
