Marketing Manager - Asahi Super Dry

 

Asahi Super Dry has experienced exceptional performance since 2018, becoming the fastest growing super premium beer brand in both the on and off trade and an established Top 10 Premium+ beer brand in the UK & IRE whilst being one of the most celebrated and influential beers globally.  

 

As the brand moves into the next phase of growth, we’re searching for an exceptional brand builder to continue the great work! Working with the Director of Brand Marketing, the Marketing Manager will be responsible for leading Asahi Super Dry in the UK  & IRE to achieve the big ambitions we have set. The successful candidate will be accountable for leading the annual brand planning process, exceptional execution of the plans and the tracking of brand performance; ensuring corrective action is taken as required.

 

We have big ambitions for Asahi Super Dry and are looking for someone with the drive, ambition and experience to take the brand to the next stage. 

 

Key accountabilities 

 

  • Lead the development of annual brand planning. 
  • Execute brilliantly and co-ordinate all partners (internal and external) cultivating effective working relationships helping to deliver standout executions, meeting strategic brand objectives
  • Manage and optimise the marketing mix incl. key channels such as media, creative, partnerships & PR.
  • Ensure that all activity and brand related components of the marketing business plan is managed against budgets 
  • Lead the execution of Global Partnership platforms including Manchester City football club.
  • Work closely with Sales and Trade Marketing teams to grow the performance of the brand across On & Off Trade channels that delivers a strong P&L. 
  • End to end project management. Defining a range of projects and executing within clear guardrails.
  • Review and adapt plans to meet commercial and brand performance targets.
  • Monitor and analyse consumer trends and understand the impact on execution


Management / Leadership competencies required  

 

  • Insight development:  Naturally observant, insightful and curious. Can articulate clear and compelling insights from complex info. Able to decide what matters or not.
  • Foresight: Ability to see beyond today and, more often than not, correctly identify relevant consumer trends that translate to business opportunity. 
  • Brand development skills: Understands how to build brands that deliver against business goals.
  • Trade marketing / Sales:  An understanding of the on and off trade landscape and how purchase is achieved. 
  • Commercial Management:  Comfortable working with financial KPIs. Understands the key levers driving brand profitability. Proven to manage budgets effectively.
  • Cross functional engagement:  Can establish trust through building strong personal relationships and work integrity particularly with Brand Marketing – Local and Global.
  • Business Acumen:  Having the commercial understanding of how the business makes money and operates.
  • Stakeholder and Project Management:  Maintaining key relationships with external agency stakeholders and key internal partners delivering excellence in the management of projects


Experience required 

 

  • Brand management experience in an international FMCG company and be able to demonstrate an understanding of best practice marketing principles and techniques.
  • Proven experience of managing complex marketing projects through to successful completion. 
  • Experience working in media and communications. 
  • Global Brand Partnership experience with proven ability to execute in market.
  • Understand how P&Ls operate and how money is made.
  • Premium drinks and on Trade experience a preference.
