An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Solutions Sales Engineer to join our team.

Achieving new solutions sales utilising the full extent of the Rolls-Royce PowerGen portfolio, with a primary focus on grid-scale BESS and microgrid solutions.  Helping to develop Rolls-Royce into a full turnkey solutions provider with an emphasis on our customer’s requirements.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home or another remote location.  It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement.  As a minimum we’re all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.

What you will be doing:

  • Uncover new clients / leads as well as managing existing client relationships.
  • Provide technical support to new and existing clients with a consultative approach.
  • Develop power solutions which meet the client’s technical needs whilst also considering the project budget.
  • Monitor, use and keep up-to-date the company CRM tool with all active leads and opportunities.
  • Demonstrate a good commercial understanding and achieve minimum profit margins on new sales.
  • Create budget and binding offers in line with company templates and guidelines
  • Meet pre-determined and agreed sales targets.
  • Assist in achieving sales of Rolls-Royce service agreements alongside new product sales.
  • Conduct regular competitive analysis, in line with corporate guidelines, and feedback to peers and management.
  • Conduct project handovers from sales to operations team upon receipt of project award, including internal meetings and client handover meetings.
  • Liaise and manage a complex supply chain at design and quotation level.
  • Develop and maintain internal relationships across the Rolls-Royce company, at business unit and power system levels.
  • Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.

  • The ability to speak German is desirable but by no means essential.
  • Skilled at working with exchange rates, project costings sheets and Microsoft Office templates.
  • Previous experience in the Power Generation industry would be desirable, especially within battery storage.
  • An understanding and experience of EPC / BoP works would be preferential.
