Proof Inspector

Derby, site-based role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Proof Inspector at the Precision Casting Facility (PCF) within our Turbines Business Unit in Derby.

In this role, you will look after CMM/3DSL programming and operation, calibration and production support. Working with a team of skilled operators you will be delivering high quality parts to Customer on time.

The Turbines Business Unit is responsible for the Turbine sub-system, focusing on the design, manufacturing and delivery of turbine components. The Precision Casting Facility (PCF) manufactures turbine blades through a variety of operations from wax pattern injection to shell mould creation, casting and finishing. We create turbine blades which are then shipped to our customers for machining and coating to then on to either engine build or spares.

What you will be doing:

You will be accountable both for delivery and quality of the aerospace engine components. Your responsibilities will include:

• CMM/3DSL programming and operation.

• Be an integral member of the team, working together to deliver on Customer requirements.

• Operate safely and to the required health and safety standards.

• Continually drive process and products improvements.

• Production support including calibration and problem solving.

• Interpretation of technical drawings.

• Engineering support for metrology, validation work and product verification audits.

• Completed an advanced level engineering apprenticeship*.

• CMM or 3DSL/GOM programming experience – preferred.

• Previous inspection experience.

• Good technical knowledge including understanding of technical drawings.

• Ability to work flexibly and to actively resolve problems within the area.

• Ability to work in team and cross- functionally.

• Computer literacy.
