What You Bring to Parsyl

We are creating a mission-driven team that aims to transform the essential supply chain industry. As our first claims team member in the UK, you will build out our claims process and handle files through our London Market business.

Parsyl is headquartered in Denver, Colorado. We also have an office in the center of the insurance district in London. In this role, you will report to the Head of Claims, who is based out of the US.

Candidates should expect to be in our London offices at least three days a week for in-person meetings, with some flexibility to work remotely.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

Customer Service and Claims Management, including:

• Delivering best-in-class service to customers from First Notice of Loss (FNOL) to file closure.
• Managing and overseeing the end-to-end process of cargo & logistics claims, including investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement.
• Analyzing claim documentation to ascertain liability and ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

Investigation and Resolution, including:

• Conducting thorough investigations into claim validity, collaborating with relevant stakeholders for efficient resolution.
• Collaborate with internal departments, external teams, and other insurers to ensure timely and accurate claim settlements.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Representation, including:

• Representing Parsyl in broker and client engagement meetings and business development opportunities.
• Fostering positive relationships with brokers and clients through effective communication.

Requirements

What we're looking for:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in cargo claim adjustment, loss adjustment, or surveying within the cargo and logistics claims.
• Experience working in the London Market and with Lloyd's key systems.
• Demonstrated knowledge of cargo insurance, international shipping laws, and claim settlement processes.
• Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of successful claim resolution.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with diverse stakeholders, both internally and externally.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet strict deadlines.

It's a bonus if you also have:

• Experience in handling Logistics or other marine claims.
• Broking or risk management experience.
• Relevant certifications or qualifications in cargo claims.
• Experience working in fast-paced startup environments.
• Leading industry discussions and presenting to internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to speak in Spanish or French.
