About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing business in the beverage division of Barry-Callebaut. Joining a team up to 15 operators including temporary labour in the day to day running of the production and process department. This is a great opportunity to be involved in many of the continuous improvement projects that are due to launch on site.

To have ownership and control over a designated manual packing machine and area. To maintain a high standard of Health and Safety and Quality by adhering to standards and ensuring all relevant production, QMS, GMP and downtime reports are compliant. To adhere to the daily production plan, ensuring the correct packaging materials are in position in accordance to the plan. To be a key player in Beverages UK achieving its target in terms of volume, quality, safety and efficiency and to lead our values: Team Spirit, Entrepreneurship, integrity, customer focus and passion.

Key Responsbilites

• Contribute to a positive Health and Safety culture and behavior.
• Timely quality checks of the product, conduct foreign body hunts of the area and highlight GMP issues.  

• Operating pouch making machinery, line set-up and set up of box taping machine, including size changeovers.
• Ensure finished products are correctly packed to target in line with company and customer expectations.

• Contribute to Triple Zero initiatives – Zero Accidents, Zero Delays and Zero Defects.
• Good appreciation of high standards of hygiene including Allergen cleaning.
• Give support and direction to the machine operator support team.

About you 

• 2+ years’ experience in a FMCG environment including food manufacturing methods, understanding of standard operating procedures (SOP`s), one point lessons (OPL) and hygiene standards. (Essential)

• Experience of continuous improvement and problem solving (Knowledge)
• Experience in a culture that promotes a high standard of Health and Safety (Essential)

• Experience in a culture that promotes a high standard of quality and food safety (Essential)
• Good communication skills, written and verbal (Essential)
• Good numeracy skills and the ability to capture data in “real time”  (Essential)
• Experience with scanning system technology (Desirable)
• Passionate and motivated

• Can work cross functionally between production and process

This role is a manual handling packing focused role. Packing up to 1kg of dry powdered product into a box. This role may also see the individual move to other roles in the factory such as bulk. Operating fully automated machinery to pack 15kg, 25kg and 1 tonne products
