Job Descrption

BMW Group Financial Services UK is looking for a Sales Steering Manager – 2 year Fixed Term Contract. This role is based at the Summit ONE Campus in Farnborough.

 

BMW Group Financial Services UK established it’s Multi-Make Retail trading style ‘ALPHERA Financial Services’ in 2006, to support and compliment the BMW Group’s ambitious growth in its retail finance business. Since establishing, ALPHERA Financial Services has seen significant growth with annual New Business Volumes of almost £2bn and a Network of almost 1,000 Partners. The Sales Steering function is fundamental in day-to-day operations of the ALPHERA business, acting as the main conduit between the ALPHERA Partner Network, the ALPHERA Business Development Managers and the wider BMW Group Financial Services business. 

 

The Sales Steering Manager is critical to ensuring the ALPHERA New Business Volume remains sustainable to the overall business through devising and delivering strategies to support the smooth operation of those key highly impacted business areas. Specific focus on business efficiencies and business enhancements is vital in making ALPHERA easier to do business with, whilst also bolstering the ALPHERA proposition in the UK Marketplace. The role holder must be an excellent relationship builder, strong communicator and able to lead others.

 

What awaits you?

  • Owner & driver within ALPHERA for key business topics ranging from Digital, Business Intelligence/Data Analytics to our annual Partner Review Board (benchmarking and assessing the Partner Network with the ALPHERA Leadership Team). 
  • Identify new initiatives to drive sales forward and/or improve business efficiencies.
  • Lead, coordinate & manage Partner communications, inc. Partner Intranet management: coordinating across business lines & key departments.
  • Lead Working Groups across BMW Group Financial Services for specific topics to ensure smooth delivery and ongoing development/improvement.
  • Responsible for short-medium term projects varying from operational topics to launching of new products in conjunction with the Product Development Team.
  • Development design and deliver strategies to improve the efficiency of the acquisition and processing of ALPHERA volumes through the wider business and key highly impacted departments.
  • Act as a support function for ALPHERA Business Development Managers
  • Act as the conduit and point of escalation between ALPHERA and the wider BMW Group.
  • Work collaboratively with BMW Group Financial Services Sales Functions; in particular with B2C Group Brands where Partner groups are shared.
  • Be able to confidently and effectively communicate both internally and externally at all levels within the business.
  • Produce monthly reports and presentations to support the effective steering of the ALPHERA sales channel and communicating these.
  • Along with ALPHERA Leadership Team and other key leaders in the relevant departments, design and deliver strategies to work more closely with the wider business and key highly impacted departments with the aim of improving understanding of common and divergent priorities, communication and joint strategies for sustainable growth.
  • Design and deliver suitable Management Information and processes to support this activity.
  • Support, complement and strengthen the ALPHERA Brand.

 

On occasion the role holder will support and deputise for Business Development Manager’s; physically on region but only as appropriate given locations; more commonly from the office, by telephone.

 

The role holder may also undertake additional activities as defined by the Head of Sales Steering, Pricing & Channel Development this could include, but isn’t limited to: attending/running committees, deputising for team members, owning other key business topics.

 

What should you bring along?

  • Direct / Indirect Sales experience within Motor Finance organisation or similar
  • Wide business knowledge of our organisation or similar
  • Understanding of our sales strategy, product knowledge, and the FCA Compliance Landscape
  • Understanding of Retailer/Partner processes, priorities and their considerations and concerns around handling of our customers
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to motivate others
  • Highly motivated and capable of working using their own initiative without supervision.
  • Ability to form strong relationships, communicate and influence at all levels within the organisation. Both internally and externally
  • Self-starter and ability to work under sustained pressure
  • Very strong analytical and communication skills
  • Proficient excel & PowerPoint skills
  • Detailed knowledge of the automotive and financial services market
